Take time during these types of processes to pray and to simply be still and know that God is with you. Gathering data and considering all your options can be stressful, though. After all, you do need to do some research, tour communities and ensure the location you choose meets all your needs. And big decisions, such as whether you will move into an assisted living community and which one you might choose, should take time when possible. Remember that most decisions don't have to be made in the next few seconds. And if you're talking to someone about your options and they have nothing constructive or good to say, you might want to seek out someone else to discuss matters with. That doesn't mean glossing over or ignoring potential issues or downsides it means not falling into the trap of negative thinking or speaking. Talking through them can be a great way to figure out pros, cons and what you really want to do. It's common to talk through options and decisions with others. This pleased God so much that he gave Solomon many of the other things as well. Solomon asked for wisdom - not gold or power or other earthly rewards. The Bible tells us that God appeared to Solomon in a dream and asked him what he wanted. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But by making a point to rely on God first and know that he will provide what you need, you can make decisions that aren't tied to things that might lead you astray. That's not to say these things are wrong in and of themselves. Money, safety or a desire to be loved by others are some examples of common things people pursue and that can lead to bad decisions when they're the only goal. It can be easy for people to make decisions for the wrong reasons - even when they don't realize this is the case. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Hebrews 13:5 You can do this via prayer, reading Scripture or talking to a spiritual leader for advice. We can’t speak to its long-term skincare benefits but we’re certainly excited by the appeal of a foundation that offers healthy-looking coverage while working behind the scenes on improving skin health. Our heart still belongs to Nars’s natural radiant longwear formula (£37.50, .uk) but we’d definitely reach for this on minimal make-up days. This glowy offering is a great addition to Nars’s foundation roster, sitting nicely between its sheer formulas and heavier options. The verdict: Nars light reflecting foundation This formula is buildable though, so this might not be an issue if you don’t mind building up coverage in problem areas. Priced at £37.50, it costs the same as Nars’s natural radiant longwear formula, but is pricier than the rest of the brand’s foundations, which may be down to its skincare ingredients. Packaging wise, the brand has stuck to its roots, with a glass bottle embossed with the signature logo, a sleek black lid and a slimline pump for easy dispensing. The brand takes this dynamic formula further with a complex that reflects light “like a prism”, giving the skin that lit-from-within radiance and aiding the natural finish. The formula includes “photochromic” technology, which in laymen’s terms, means a powder that shifts in tone depending on the intensity of light.Īccording to Nars, this results in your skin never being washed out, making it an impressively reactive complexion product. Internet bandwidth conservation: The video quality setting for the live view defaults to SD, which helps save internet bandwidth. No video-transfer fuss: We like that the recording feature doesn't save video to your DVR, but directly to your phone, which cuts some of the trouble of transferring the recording later. When you select a specific camera in the app, you can access a simple menu for recording, audio, playback, video quality, and brightness/contrast settings. Night Owl can show you multiple cameras at once because the DVR packages the video streams before sending them across the internet to your phone. This is particularly useful for checking up on multiple cameras at once, something that isn't very common among cameras from Arlo and Ring, which require you to preview video feeds individually. The Live View tab of the app allows you to view one or multiple cameras in a variety of layouts. You can also find an infrared motion sensor on each camera, which triggers motion recording and notifications. ![]() This protects the video/power cable so it's harder to tamper with. It's a good idea to secure the cables along the top of a wall, and you can buy a cable run or cord cover to conceal them if you don't want to stress about hiding them (though it will be pricey if you do 60 feet for each camera). But having multiple cameras does make up the shortfall a little.Įach camera comes with a 60-foot video/power cable, which is long enough to reach most areas of an average-sized home-provided the DVR is in a central location. Although this is wider than you might see on other wired security cameras, it's narrower than the 130º average on most wireless cameras. We're not big fans of the cameras' narrow field of view (100º), which limits how much they can see. This type of night vision is more effective than most Wi-Fi security cameras, which illuminate about 25 feet on average. Each camera comes equipped with powerful infrared LEDs that give it up to 100 feet of night vision range. The four cameras in our Night Owl system are weatherproof, so you can use them indoors or outdoors. Still, the lag was less apparent compared to a wireless camera like the Arlo Pro 4, probably because there's no Wi-Fi involved on the sending end. When you watch a livestream on the mobile app, you can expect a short lag depending on your internet speed. Still, renters in apartments (like the small apartment where we tested) might see a little motion blurring close to the camera with people walking directly in front of it. If you view the video on a monitor connected to the DVR, it looks crisp without any noticeable motion blur at a distance. Compared to wireless cameras like the Ring Stick Up Cam and Wyze Cam Outdoor, the quality doesn't hold up considering those are easier to install. With Night Owl in particular, we found the color wasn't great in dim rooms and just decent in bright spaces. (We didn't test this, but it's true for most wired surveillance systems.) In our case, the included cameras topped out at 1080p, which is standard for security cameras these days. Still, we suspect it supports a variety of wired add-on cameras with lower resolutions as well. The DVR supports recording resolutions up to 1080p. Video quality is a tricky subject when dealing with DVRs like the one Night Owl uses. ![]() ![]() ![]() You get a free upgrade if we follow your suggestion. Although Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young had a rocky relationship, maybe their combustible passion helped produce such great music. Its songs reflected the times, and yet they still hold up today. It’s hard to believe we’re approaching 50 years years since the release of Deja Vu. It was similar to what Stephen Stills did with “For What It’s Worth (Stop, Hey What’s That Sound)” after the Sunset Strip demonstrations in 1967. That song about the Kent State shootings by the National Guard, fit right in with the band’s political awareness. Neil Young’s greatest contribution to the group’s recordings came in 1970, shortly after the release of Deja Vu …the single “Ohio”. Neil’s solo songs were a welcome part of their concerts as the years went on. His solo success came after Deja Vu gave him a much higher profile. What we do know is that even though Neil Young had two very good solo albums prior to joining CSN, they were not very successful. We’ll never know if CSN would have had smoother sailing if they hadn’t added the Y. ![]() Drummer Dallas Taylor, Bassist Greg Reeves, and Engineer Bill Halverson have said the first album was made with great cooperation and enthusiasm, but Deja Vu had the musicians butting heads. Neil Young only played on five tracks…his two songs, “Helpless” & “Country Girl”, plus “Almost Cut My Hair”, “Woodstock” and “Everybody I Love You”.Īs much as I love Neil Young, it could certainly be debated whether his addition was good or bad for Crosby, Stills & Nash. (CSN&Y with Dallas Taylor & Greg Reeves, photo by Henry Diltz) The Stills solo song “4 + 20” got a lot of airplay, and so did David Crosby’s “Deja Vu” (with John Sebastian on harmonica). The hit singles from Deja Vu were Graham Nash’s “Teach Your Children” (with Jerry Garcia on steel guitar), Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock”, and Nash’s “Our House”. It was the perfect album opener, with excellent harmony and a driving rhythm…a worthy follow-up to “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” which had opened their first album. “Carry On” by Stephen Stills was the first song I heard. Memphis FM radio stations started playing the album right away. Deja Vu had the leather-looking cover with the gold embossed letters, and an actual photograph glued to the front. We may have wanted to break in, but we came back when the store was open. We looked in to see a huge display at the front of the store with lots of copies of the album…only a locked door away. The day Deja Vu was released (March 11th, 1970), we went to the record store…but it had closed for the day. My wife and I were newlyweds living in Memphis, TN while I attended electronics school.
